The cylinders, made of highly tempered steel, are immersed in a liquid, hot zinc bath with a great deal of expertise. The zinc forms a strong metallurgical bond with the steel and protects the cylinders from external corrosion better than any other external treatment. Painting is unnecessary. When new, the “Steel Beast” cylinders are shiny silver/gray with various color nuances and a visually irregular surface structure. The cylinders become darker and duller after a short time.
