Faber "Steel Beast" diving cylinder with expandable valve 12144 and base. Cylinder body approx. 14.5 kg - diameter 171 mm - length approx. 68 cm. Max. operating pressure 232 bar. No need to paint again, no protective nets required! Hot-dip galvanized steel cylinders in the "Steel Beast" - Steal Beast" version are particularly suitable for heavy-duty use, such as sidemount diving or use in salt water. To make this technically possible, highly tempered steel is used in their manufacture. The cylinders are immersed in a hot, liquid zinc bath. The zinc forms a solid metallurgical alloy with the steel, thus protecting the cylinders better against corrosion than is possible with any other external treatment. Hot-dip galvanizing is carried out according to the usual industrial standard and results in a sometimes irregular, rough surface structure with various shades of gray and black. The surface consists of excess zinc and may have small furrows, grooves, or scratches. However, these do not affect the excellent corrosion resistance of our Steel Beasters. Hot-dip galvanized cylinders must not be completely painted, and we advise against the use of protective nets.
