The OrcaTorch D710V has three colors: white, red, and UV.
Anyone familiar with OrcaTorch dive lights is probably familiar with the D710 flashlight, a small but very powerful dive light. The D710V is based on this design, and at first glance, the difference is barely noticeable.
The difference lies in the light head. The narrow beam of the D710 is obviously not what you need for underwater photography or videography. The D710V, with its 2000-lumen LED, produces a 120° wide, evenly distributed white beam. It burns at this level for one and a half hours. Pressing the switch again reduces the brightness to 600 lumens of white light, and the light burns at this level for just over four hours.
Pressing the switch a third time switches to a 125-lumen red LED, which emits a crisp red light that's very useful for spotting animals without scaring them away. Finally, pressing the switch a fourth time switches the D710V to UV light, which can be used to capture fluorescent photos or videos at night—a rather remarkable property of some creatures in the tropical marine environment.
For any underwater photography or video lighting, a stable connection to your camera is essential. For this purpose, the D710V comes with the ZJ18 ball joint, which allows the D710 to be attached to your camera rig.
