Imagine you are with your buddy at a depth of 24 meters, exploring a wreck. The wreck is covered with fantastic corals and sponges, and colorful fish are swarming everywhere. You have already been here for 23 minutes and still have 22 minutes of no-decompression time left!
How is that possible? The answer is simple: you are using Nitrox as your breathing gas!
Nitrox smells no different than air, tastes no different than air, and if you do everything right, it dives no different than air – it is air with altered gas proportions. You could also say that air is a Nitrox mixture with approx. 21% oxygen and approx. 79% inert gas.
The practical training lessons cover Nitrox hardware such as tanks, equipment configurations, and regulators, as well as O2 analyzers, measuring and calculating O2 content.
At the end of the course, you will be able to dive with Nitrox with an oxygen content of up to 40%.
