The new Stealth 2.0 REC Sidemount System doesn't replace the old Stealth 2.0, but rather expands the Stealth 2.0 family with another buoyancy compensator offering more buoyancy and stability. The proven 16 kg wing bladder, which remains in the range, is now called the CLASSIC. The Stealth harness, with its ingeniously simple weight system, remains the same.
Like the TEC bladder, the REC also uses a double-walled bladder with inflator connections on both sides. Unlike the TEC, however, the REC bladder has a volume of only 13 liters, sufficient for all recreational diving applications.
The second major difference from the CLASSIC version is the secure connection to the familiar Stealth 2.0 harness. The new REC Wing bladder is connected to the xDEEP harness at three points: The harness straps are threaded through at the top, a wide Velcro fastener around the tried-and-tested weight system in the middle ensures stability, and the bladder is firmly screwed to the crotch strap at the bottom (M8 screw).
The central weight system can be easily loaded with lead while the buoyancy bladder is installed. To do this, simply open the center Velcro fastener on the REC bladder. To maintain streamlined performance during the dive, the outer ends of the bladder are secured with carabiners at the front of the waist belt. The newly developed three-bar attachment point is used for this purpose. This eliminates any discomfort from pressing on the diver's body.
The K-Type inflator is sufficiently dimensioned at 16 inches and can easily be screwed from the left side (standard) to the right side if necessary. The quick-release valve is located, as usual, in the center at the bottom of the BCD.
The usual high material quality of xDEEP has remained the same. Cordura 1100 dTEX for the outer shell and Nylon 440 dTEX for the inner bladder promise the wing's long-lasting durability.
The Stealth 2.0 Sidemount System is available with the weight system in sizes S (2 x 1.5 kg), M (4 x 1.5 kg), L (8 x 1.5 kg), or W (4 x 2.5 kg).
